Sandwich Type Drying Cloth

New technology type of drying cloth which is very different to the current types in the market today whereby the water is ‘wicked’ into the centre of the construction keeping the surface of the cloth generally dry/damp. It works best when slightly damp to enable the water to be ‘wicked’ off the vehicle and has been described as ‘ its absorbance is far more than anything else that has been tried!’. The smaller sized cloth, DUK172, can easily be wrung out enabling the drying to be easily handled saving time over the larger type reducing streaks effortlessly.

Microfibers are also known as microdeniers, made from extra-fine fibers of polyester, acrylic or polyamides (nylon) or a combination of polyester and polyamides. Microfibers are therefore used in the manufacture of non-woven, woven and knitted textiles, the shape,size and combinations of synthetic fibers are selected for specific charateristics which include: softness, durability, absorption, wicking abilities, water repellency, electrodynamics and filtering capabilities.

A microfiber is so fine that the range is normally between 0.05 and 1.5 denier, to compare with similar fibres, a microfiber is ½ the diameter of a fine silk fiber, 1/3 the diameter of cotton, ¼ the diameter of fine wool and 100x finer than human hair. The science originated back to the late 1950’s and was further developed into ultra fibres in the 1960’s in Japan. Nine thousand meters of a one-denier fiber weighs only one gram.

Microfibers are more heat sensitive than normal diameter fibers as they are so fine that heat penetrates more quickly. They therefore should not be pressed with a hot iron and they should never go into a hot clothes dryer ( tumble dryer ) otherwise they can become damaged.

Microfiber products used for cleaning are generally formed from a combination of polyester and polyamides. Due to the fine fibers which leave no lint or dust, Microfibers are a popular choice for car detailers and enthusiasts. They are ideally suited to handle tasks such as removing wax, quick detailing, cleaning interiors, cleaning glass as well as drying. Differing knits means that microfibers can be developed for certain operations and are offered widely along with differing weights therefore for car detailers this ensures appropriate finishes which are widely demanded
