  1. Ring rpp50 car starter

Posted by curlytop on 7th Mar 2012

'Unknowns' review in December 2011 complained that the "manual you get with it is wrong". I think he is correct but could he elaborate on this? I have emailed Ring two weeks ago but have not received a reply. Does Unknown or anyone else know if Ring have issued a corrected instruction? My problem is that what is said in the manual about coloured LEDs does not match what happens on my unit. I have also purchased Rings mains adaptor (RC80091) to charge from the mains but have no connection instructions. Help!

  2. Ring rpp50 car starter

Purchased this Ring Carstarter a couple of weeks ago. It does its job , it will start your car. But, and its a big but, instructions you get with unit are wrong. To charge it you need to plug the seperate cable from the unit and into the cars cigerete lighter socket and possition the switch on the unit to on position. While charging unit a fan runs inside the unit continuous. These instructions differ from the paper instructions you get with it, takes 8hrs to charge and everytime you leave your car you have to turn switch to off position on the starter or it will flatten battery. I purchased a charger from maplins 240volts to 13.5v, this way you can charge it up in the home, should of been supplied with unit. If you do purchase a charger remember it as to be 240v to 13.5v 2amp and you have to solder cigerete lighter accepter on end.It does work,i have started my 1800cc diesel twice with it.Good luck
